I'll start this post by saying in the UK, we spell moisturise with an s not a z =P! Even if Safari keeps telling me I'm wrong! I will sometimes post with American spellings, if I'm in the mood, but 9 times out of 10 it will be the British way!
It's just a quick post today as I wanted to share with you guys my latest make up MUST HAVE! Those of you who watched my Summer Beauty Must Have's Video (I'll link below) will know that I am obsessed with moisturiser, but however wasn't happy with the one I was using. It was called 'Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser' and admittedly I purchased it because it was on offer and I'm always keen to try out new products. On offer, it came with make up remover and toner; all from the same brand.

The Simple Moisturiser £3.56 from my local Superdrug (RRP) |
To say I was dissapointed with this moisturiser - with the whole range in general is a massive understatement. On the bottle it boasts that it's made with '2 vital vitamins, 2 skin loving nutrients and 0 perfume or colour'. It also states that it's 'perfect for even sensitive skin'. Reviews on the drug store website also give it 4 out of 5 stars- however I couldn't agree less. After using this moisturiser for 3 days, instead of clearing my skin and giving it a smooth, even complexion, it had done the opposite. I can honestly say that I can't remember my skin looking so bad in 2-3 years. I had spots everywhere, my skin was rough, dry, oily - everything that could possibly happen to it! Yes this moisturiser is cheap and good if you are on a budget but if it has adverse effects such as that is it worth it?
Before using Simple I had been a devoted Avon moisturiser fan. That is until they discontinued my product of choice. That was the first moisturiser I used and if they still produced it I could certainly say that I'd still be using it. I haven't tried any other Avon moisturisers since but I definitely would.
So after about 6 weeks of being dissatisfied with the Simple moisturiser I began the hunt for something new. It has taken me months. Skincare is not something I take lightly and I am quite fussy. For example, instead of something coming in a bottle like the Simple moisturiser (which got an air lock EVERY time I wanted to use it and resulted in masses of moisturiser being spat out of the bottle) I wanted something in a tub, that was going to fix my ongoing skin problem due to the Simple stuff.
It was only a fortnight ago that I stumbled into The Body Shop on my way to the gym and decided to take a look at their moisturisers. My mum used to use one of theirs and I always liked the smell. As well, at the time, they were offering a free skin consultation in store. So I happily went in and spoke to a lovely sales assistant, whilst the consultation was lacking something personal and was more like a sales pitch, the product I finally went with is PERFECT!! I chose the Vitamin E Moisture Cream

****EDIT Dated 30.8.2011****
Simple (Manufacturers of moisturiser 1) have emailed me the results of the questionnaire I did and honestly, I'm not impressed. As I joined the site I got a free voucher but otherwise I would've had to pay £8.99 which I'd be furious at, having gotten the results.
They split the report up into 12 sections but only 1 is personal to me and my 'skin type' which they decided was 'dry' which is wrong as I've had a dermo tell me its combination. It's not that I'm not impressed that they got that wrong; there's not a lot you can tell from a questionnaire but I am totally shocked that they would charge to tell me this. Other information in the report is useful, but nothing I didn't already know and nothing you couldn't find out on the web free of charge.
I'll post some useful bits in another post but all in all I'd say Simple is a company to be avoided!
