Sentimental Sunday; End of the Week Review!

1 comment
Hi guys! First off I want to apologise for being kind of MIA this week - it's been a kind of hectic one. I've worked a lot more than I normally do which is good as I REALLY need the money at the moment but that's a whole other story! Anyway all excuses spared, I'm sorry and I'm going to be back at it next week! In preparation for the launch of the fall challenge!!!

I've decided, after my blog post two weeks ago, now, to start a weekly 'Sentimental Sunday'. I think it's good to take a moment and reflect back on the week I've had and look at what went well and what could have been a lot better. That way it will be easier to improve if I've pinpointed some weaknesses! I also think it's really good to share as I could have a lot in common with you guys reading this and we never would've known!

So I guess I'll start with my diet. I've been so proud of myself this week! I've eaten so so well and honestly I feel amazing for it. Monday was a little bit weird for me as I spent the morning in a field at a festival still so I didn't have my normal breakfast (low fat natural yogurt with summer fruit museli), but had the museli-bar version instead, and then I came home and had a little chicken and salad for lunch. Then Tuesday came and I was completely back to normal, by way of my routine. I'm not going to bore you with a day-by-day diary of what I ate but overall it consisted of salads for lunch and meat or fish and lean green veggies for dinner.

Two events I will pinpoint though will be Wednesday night and Saturday night :). Wednesday night was date-night with my guy - it's something we do monthly; we go to the movies (we saw the Glee Movie - AMAZING) and go for dinner. Now normally, I would order whatever and not even think about it, but this week I was determined to be healthy (almost on a mini-slimdown) and I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken (dressing on the side). I love Caesar salad so I don't really know why I ever order much else when I'm trying to eat healthy and I'm out for dinner. Especially with the dressing on the side you can avoid all the dangers of high calorie dressings!  It just proved to me that there are healthy options for dinner even if you are eating at a Pizza restaurant!

Then last night (Saturday) was probably my biggest indulgence. My sister and I do this thing, whenever my parents are out and we stick on a movie and order a pizza. However to stick to being healthy (and we had a LOT more fun) we made the pizza ourself this time (completely from scratch!). It was a Pizza Marinara on a Whole Wheat base (I have a recipe if anyone wants it). Marinara Pizza is great because it has no cheese on the topping! Chloe and I were eating this long before I was on my Tone It Up journey as she doesn't like to eat melted cheese. I promise you it is the nicest pizza I have ever tasted! I ♥ Marinara Pizza!

So all in all I was REALLY happy with my diet this week. Improvements would be;

  • drink more water
  • eat more fruit
  • no Pizza!

Now for exercise! I was disappointed this week with my commitment to working out. Admittedly I was SO tired from the Festival (I reckon I walked 5+ miles every day I was there!) so I didn't jump back into it straight away. I know I shouldn't have let that stop me for more than a day. I did my weekly Zumba class on Tuesday (instead of Monday for the reason above) and then unlike normal, didn't plan out when I would go to the gym. This I think was my biggest downfall. As a result I've not been to the gym once this week. Nor have I ran. So other than Zumba the only exercise I've done is being active on my feet at work (19hrs total) and I did two hikes with my boyfriend (totalling about 5 miles). So I'm not ecstatic but happy as it means I've got lots to improve on;

  • Get at least 2 gym workouts in
  • Get at least 1 run in
  • Run another 5k
The Week Ahead

Other than my goals listed above, this week is kind of huge as (if it's launched on time) the Tone It Up Fall Challenge begins!! (YAY) *Jumps up and down*. I'm so excited for it, I'm challenging myself to stick to it and really work my behind off to achieve results! As well as this I need to prepare for going back to college as it's really coming up soon! *boooo*

I'm also looking to start a Skype Group for when we're in need of a little bit of motivation, or if we have something to share- kind of along the lines of a support group :) My username is georgiamaisie so feel free to add me and we can have a chat!

I hope you all have the perfect week!
