Olympic Team TIU Challenge. Day 2: Winners and Challenge 2!

It's day 2!! Did you enjoy the opening ceremony? I did!! Apologies in advance for the quality of the post it's being written on the iPad! I loveeed the opening ceremony! The lighting if the cauldron was by far the highlight for me. It's been kept a massive secret who will light it and there was much speculation. I couldn't think of a better way to do it than by using the athletes of tomorrow. the cauldron itself is a thing of beauty with one flame being lit for each country that is competing. I got quite emotional!!

Without further ado let's get on to yesterday's winners! The challenge was to show me your Opening Ceremony outfit and why it was important to you. I found it so hard to choose and this was just the first challenge!! I'm such a softie! In third place, and thereby winning the Bronze medal for challenge one, we have Megan (@Bentozen) who looked positively patriotic in red, white and blue! Great job Megan, I loveeeee your accessories!

In second place winning the silver medal is awarded to Leigh (@LeighTonesItUp). Leigh posted this with a caption reading "I've never felt more confident than I did when I wore this dress" which suitably won Leigh second place!

Finally, winning the first Gold of the Olympic Team TIU Challenge is Kyle (@KyleTonesItUp)! Kyle emailed me her entry and I was touched by the thought that had gone into it. Alongside her picture, Kyle wrote;

"Here's my outfit. The reason I would wear it for the opening ceremony is that it makes me feel beautiful and powerful. The shoes are TOMS, and the height from the wedges makes my legs look great :). The dress is easy and pretty and flattering. The blazer is my favorite. I got it in London, where I lived alone for 4 months. The whole outfit reminds me of how capable and brave I am, it's such a confidence booster. Just like an Olympian!"

Congratulations Kyle! DM/Email me your postal address to recieve your prize!

Challenge Two
It's day one of the Olympic Games and there are opportunities to win medals in three events; swimming, cyling and weightlifting. The challenge is to do any of the three today!

Swimming
Get in the pool for a HIIT workout! Swim two lengths at full power front crawl and recover at a slow to medium pace - you can do it! You're an Olympian! Compete for thirty minutes at least.

Cycling
Either at the gym or on a road bike. (Don't worry I wont make you cycle 250km as they have on the Road Race today!) If you're at the gym, cycle for 1 minute 30 at 100rpm before knocking it back to 60rpm for 1 minute. Carry on like this for 30 minutes! If you're on the road, push yourself and cycle further than you ever have!

Weightlifting
Complete at least three Tone It Up workouts of your choice. Either from your Beach Babe DVD or from the Tone It Up YouTube Channel!

Your challenge is to check in with me and let you know what you did and what you achieved! True Olympian style! Good luck athletes!
