Summer is finally here and I couldn't be more excited! It's no secret that summer sees a huge increase in the amount of vacations being taken worldwide!
This Summer I'm going to combine my love of travel with my love of health and fitness to present you with a Summer Travel Series!
Today I'm sharing my favourite toning moves and cardio workouts to fit in whilst you're on vacation!
Rule number one!! Remember the absolute rule on vacation (that comes above EVERYTHING else) is that you're there to enjoy yourself! That is absolutely paramount and everything else comes second.
With that being said, if you're taking a beach vacation you're going to be a little bit aware of that bathing suit right? What's more, I know personally I don't like coming back from being away feeling totally out of shape when I get back in the gym!
Therefore, here are some of my favourite toning moves you can do on the go, without any equipment, wherever you are!
The graphic is a printable! Click on it to access a PDF file to print out and take away with you! Or alternatively you can put it on your iPhone/iPad by saving the file to your computer, opening iTunes and clicking 'Add File to Library'. You can also open the document on your device and click the 'Open in iBooks' button!
It can also be REALLY easy to fit in your cardio whilst on vacation! Here are some of my favourite ways to get it done whilst exploring!
- Swimming: If you have access to a pool or to the ocean - dive in! Swimming is one of my favourite things to do! High-Five for pretending to be a mermaid!
- Walking: One of the best ways to find your bearings and explore the place you've visited is by walking around! You can take part in an organised walking tour or do it yourself! Buy yourself a map, take your camera and see what you can find - it's even better if you get lost!
- Cycling: I guarantee that there will be somewhere where you can hire bikes! The property you're staying at may even have some! Make the most of them and enjoy that cycle along the beach or through town!
- Hiking: Staying in a mountainous area? Spy a big hill from your villa window? Get some comfortable shoes on and walk up it! You may find some of the most natural/unspoilt areas this way :)
- Dancing: I mentioned above that the number one vacation rule is to enjoy yourself - so have a night on the town! Dance until your feet hurt - you could even learn the local dance. Samba in Brazil anyone? ;)
Remember; whatever option you choose from above, put the SPF on before!
Being a Tone It Up girl, I also always use the resources they make available to me! Their Beach Babe DVD is multi-regional so it can play in any DVD player worldwide, making it one of the first things I pack for any vacation. Now there are two of them as well so there is no excuse for not having a workout!
All of the Tone It Up routines also have printable workouts. There will be a link under the YouTube videos so you can either print it out and take a physical copy, or put it on your iPad/iPhone using the same instructions as the one above!
Stay tuned for the next portion of the series; nutrition!
All my love, always!

Hi there :)
ReplyDeleteI'm considering buying the TIU nutrition plan, is it easy to get everything on the plan in the supermarket? I have Tesco, Morrisons and Asda all close to me, but I'm thinking that some things I'm going to need a trip to Holland and Barretts maybe?! Any help is appreciated :)
Thanks!
Hi love! Tesco is really really good as they carry a lot of the brands that K&K recommend like Chobani and Almond Breeze.
DeleteI would;t necessarily say H&B is essential as it is pricey and you can get most of it in the supermarkets! If you were looking at Protein Powder you can get it cheaper on websites xxx
Hi Georgie!
ReplyDeleteIts great that you are suggesting fun ways to exercise whilst being abroad and enjoying your vacation! Exercising should be fun and it is good to see someone such as yourself trying to get this message across!
I also have the tone it up DVD but it's not multi regional! Is the latest DVD multi regional?
