As always, thank you everyone at Tone It Up for an incredible series! Also, thank you to my incredible TIU Team for pushing me to be a better version of myself this past 8 weeks!
With that being said, I wanted to share my entry with you to show you the change in me! I have a written and a video entry! I hope you enjoy!
Did you enter?
What was your favourite part of the series?
All my love - and best of luck if you did enter!
Georgie xx
I've been following TIU for three years now but I feel like my journey has two parts: pre and post-half marathon. I was so proud when I crossed the finish-line in February. I knew I was injured, I'd felt something 'go' around mile 9 and I had to walk for the majority of the rest of the race.
The week after the race I was in agony. The doctor told me I had a stress fracture in one foot and tissue damage in both. I could hardly walk. I remember so clearly on the Tuesday after the race I was crying walking along my street partly because of the pain but mainly because I was so angry. I was an active person. I loved working out - I'd just ran a half marathon and here I was taking half an hour to walk down a street that is .3 of a km. I felt like a shadow of myself.
Following the fracture I had a one-month strenuous activity ban: so no working out. My weight crept up and my confidence went down. I reached a record high of 174lbs. I refused to wear jeans; I lived in leggings! When I was able to work out again, I was terrified. I was so scared of doing anything that could put me in pain where I couldn’t walk again.
Then came the Bikini Series, and with it Bikini Cardio. I was so pumped and so desperate to make a change. The morning after the launch I got in the gym, I faced my fear and I completed Bikini Cardio. This was the start of a completely new lifestyle. From a fear of cardio to finishing #100ForSummer at 170 miles, I'd say I'm fixed!
I feel like a completely new person. I have a new love for myself. I don't work out to lose weight. I workout because I love it and its my time! I nourish my body with the food it deserves because I know I don't enjoy non-TIU approved foods! I can't put it in to words how much of a different outlook I have now.
This team has been incredible. I partnered up with Elle Braley and Holli Berry and they have honestly been an absolute gift from God. They are true sisters and dear friends. We iMessage daily, we Skype, we chat and we laugh. Alyssa Dawne has also been a complete support and true friend. Beyond my ‘Bikini Buddies’, I have grown so close to so many girls and that, for me, is what this is all about: my TIU sisterhood. I love this team with all of my heart.
My final results are: I'm down 16lbs and have lost 9% of my body weight. I've dropped a dress size, two cup sizes (boooo!) and I'm wearing jeans again! I'm actually wearing tiny Hollister jeans every day haha.
For me it's not about the weight loss (even though I'm at my lowest weight for years!!) it's about the future. My birthday is coming up in October and I want to start my twenties in the best health and in the best shape of my life. It's within reach and I'm so excited to see what my future holds!
