Taken this morning! |
It has been so long!! There was a definite Summer hiatus after all of the Greece excitement dissipated!
Don't worry! I'm back and feeling, honestly, amazing. I started my second year at University yesterday and I feel like a completely different person. Something changed me over the Summer!
Greece was amazing, I have never visited anywhere that has made me feel so peaceful. When I came back, I worked like a dog and racked up a LOT of overtime hours! Now that school has started again, I'm back into a regular routine which means Diary of an Aspiring Beach Babe is back up and running too!
The change I've felt in myself this Summer has left me feeling confident, strong and proud. I've done things I didn't think I would ever be able to do (namely leg pressing 90kgs?!) and I've grown in so many different ways.
I've learnt this summer that life is a journey, there are going to be ups and downs (as there were for me this Summer) but you have to roll with the punches! You have to choose to be positive and choose to see the light instead of the darkness and make a distinct choice to be happy; that's what I have done and I feel like an enormous weight has been lifted; and trust me I lifted it myself!
When it comes down to it, you are in charge of how you feel; you can choose to be consumed by grief or by anger or by sadness or you can choose to pull yourself out of it. Instead of being consumed I've channelled my pain into other outlets - not necessarily in the gym or at work but more ways that work for me too! Although let's face it, we all know a good gym session lifts your mood instantly! It's working too because I'm at my lowest weight in years!
I'm starting the new academic year with a sense of purpose and gratitude. Stepping back and being thankful for what I have got this Summer has been key. I encourage you to do the same!
All my love,
Georgia
