I'm Headed to the US!

It's been no secret that as a part of my degree, I'm going to spend my third year of study based at an American institution. I recently found out that as of August 2014 I'm going to be studying at Arizona State University!

I've been so excited about this adventure for so long and now it's all becoming real! Nothing more has happened so far, other than I've been in brief contact with my no.1 choice for accommodation!

Here in the UK, I'm studying for a degree in Law with American Studies. So currently, at home I take 3 Law modules and 1 American Studies module per semester. As far as I understand it, in the US I will be taking half and half. 

The process began at the end of the last academic year where we were told to start researching potential campuses! Little did they know I'd been researching before I'd even been admitted hehe! We had to select four different institutions and then the school would place us at one on an exchange basis. My top four pics were, ASU, Louisiana State University, University of California (any of their campuses!) and the University of Colorado. 

It's kind of poetic but Arizona State was the first university I ever considered going to, the first time I ever looked at universities - back when I was about 13! Now, 7 years later, that dream is coming true and it's the nicest feeling!

The next few months are going to be pretty hectic with getting my visa organised as well as finding and securing accommodation, health insurance and the like! Any tips anyone has would be hugely appreciated!

I intend to travel A LOT throughout the year so any tips anyone has about travelling in the US in general (places to visit, must see attractions, best ways to get around etc.) would be fab!

I'm going to keep posting about my journey to the States on the blog, one to keep all of you lovely readers upded about what is to come
