When the clock strikes midnight tonight, 2013 will be over! Can you believe it? Me either. 2014 promises to be a massive year with massive change for me. On August 6th I have a one way ticket to California booked - from there I will travel to Arizona where I will live for the 2014/2015 academic year. Crazy! I'm so excited but so nervous and scared too - living in the desert will be a huge change from living in the UK!
I reflected yesterday on the highs and lows I've faced in 2013, but today's post is all about looking forward. I never really set New Year's Resolutions but this year I've had some time to think about what I want to achieve next year and writing things down never hurts anyone!
I reflected yesterday on the highs and lows I've faced in 2013, but today's post is all about looking forward. I never really set New Year's Resolutions but this year I've had some time to think about what I want to achieve next year and writing things down never hurts anyone!
- My first resolution is and always be that I want to be the best daughter/sister/grandaughter/niece/girlfriend/friend I can be. I want to be as supportive, as kind, as caring and as loving as my relations need me to be. I never ever want to feel like I'm letting any of those close to me down in any way and that will continue to be a goal for as long as I live
- Secondly, I would like to be more charitable. Every year at Christmas I buy presents for children living in a hospice but I would like to be more charitable year-round, not just at Christmas. I would like to volunteer more, donate more and generally worry less about myself and more about others.
- Thirdly, I would finally like to lose the last fifteen lbs (and whatever more was added over Christmas!) I have all of the tools available to me to do this and I would like to start my life in the US feeling as confident, tight and toned as possible! I want to do this for me so I can be more comfortable in myself around others.
- I really want to become more involved with the Tone It Up community. TIU is still a massive part of my life but towards the end of 2013 I have slipped with my check ins and being accountable to my team. This stops in 2014! My TIU family really is my best asset in my weight loss journey.
- I also want to try new things; be fearless and not worry what others think.
- I want to finally learn to love my body and all of its flaws and be accepting of who I am.
2014 is set to be a year I will never forget. I really hope I can achieve my goals and the only thing that will get in my way is myself. With the right attitude I know I an achieve anything I set my mind to, and 2014 is the year I'm going to prove that to myself.
