My Thoughts on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2014

The sexiest night on television was last night, December 9th, when CBS aired this years Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It's also one of the most controversial night's on television as a lot of people weigh in on the Angels and show itself! Personally, I love the show and think it's so much fun, but I do understand a lot of the controversy and you can read more of my opinion, and see some GORGEOUS pictures below! (I also use the word gorgeous loads - sorry!)

I couldn't write a post about the Victorias Secret Show without writing about an issue that comes up year after year: are the girls too skinny? Last night I felt as though the majority of the models, especially the contract Angels looked toned, strong and gorgeous. However there was one model, Maria Borges who I visibly gasped at as she walked down the runway. She was, however, wearing a corset (as pictured with Taylor Swift) which would suck her in and make her appear skinnier.

Before the show aired I was also a little bit taken aback when one of my favourite angels, Lily Aldridge, posted the photo below on Instagram. Maybe it's just a bad angle but again I felt she looked a little too thin. 

However, as I said, I think the overwhelming majority of the angels look incredible. They clearly work hard for their bodies and like I've mentioned too, I feel as though the circumstance with Lily and Maria is just circumstantial. 

My favourite section without a doubt was the opening section, Gilded Angels. I loved the gold and the glitz and the glamour and the Angels just looked GORGEOUS! Everything about the segment was perfect. The backdrop was stunning and the outfits were just incredible. I especially loved Karlie Kloss' wings in this section- they were really unique!

This year was also the first year Victoria's Secret put two Fantasy Bras down the runway. The $2 million dollar bras were worn by the original Angels, Alessandra and Adriana. The bras were gorgeous. I preferred Alessandra's but they were both stunning. I loved the capes that they styled them with and I also LOVED that they walked down the runway together. It really made it more special.

I couldn't possibly write this post without mentioning Doutzen Kroes!! I've loved Doutzen for a LONG time but hello - she gave birth 4 months ago!!! How incredible does she look? She is curvy and gorgeous and just beautiful. Her looks were also some of my absolute favourites from the show. Good for you Doutzen! 

All in all I loved watching this years show, I watched it with all of my roommates and some friends and we had such a lovely evening. For me, the show is about fun, women celebrating their sexuality and empowering one another! Did I work out a little bit harder today? Yeah probably but what's the harm in that!? I love the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and you can bet I will watch it year after year!
