I have become obsessed with drug store make-up since coming back to Arizona in January! Remember my HUGE E.L.F haul? As a rule, I've been trying brands that aren't readily available in the UK and I've found some products that I really love! That being said, I've been stocking up so when I head back to the UK in just over a month - I will be well supplied! See below for more information on what I've fallen in love with.
Wet n Wild Colour Icon Collection
In Petal Pusher and Comfort Zone
Having heard such great things about these eyeshadow palettes, I had to get my hands on one to see how good they were for myself. I picked up Petal Pusher (the palette with lilac shades) first and initially I was pretty unimpressed! The colour pay off was good but I didn't think it was as good as everyone made it out to be. I kept playing around with it though and now I can TOTALLY see how amazing it really is! The shades are so pigmented and buttery - they apply (with the right tools!) beautifully and with 8 different shadows you can create a huge number of different looks.
So after my love affair with Petal Pusher I picked up Comfort Zone too! I have to say I probably prefer this one out of the two. I was reluctant to get it the first time because I have an abundance of neutral shades in my Naked Palette's and wasn't really sure how or if I would use the olive green shades. But, I have and they're beautiful!
With these palette's, I don't necessarily use them (or recommend using them) in the area they suggest - the shadows have 'browbone' and 'crease' for example written on them - but I'm still able to create an abundance of looks that have amazing staying power, especially when paired with the ELF eyeshadow primer.
I picked up both of these palette's at Target for $4.99 each.
Wet n Wild Colour Icon Collection Eyeshadow Trio
in Sweet as Candy and Silent Treatment
Following my success with the larger palette's, I wanted to try out some of Wet n Wild's trio's! I had heard that 'Walking on Eggshells' was a must-have trio as it's supposedly the perfect neutral smokey eye kit. I did pick it up and took it to the counter but changed my mind at the last minute! I just thought I do have so many neutrals and especially having the Comfort Zone palette and the Coastal Scents Revealed sampler from my Tone It Up Birchbox, which is so similar, I didn't need it! That being said I'm sure I'll pick it up before I leave!
So I picked up Sweet as Candy and Silent Treatment. I was really drawn to the pink shades in both of them and just like the larger palette's, the shades are beautifully pigmented and buttery and really fool-proof in creating a good look!
All of the shades in both of these trio's are shimmery, but there are varying degrees of shimmer in each palette!
Wet n Wild is SO cheap too so I really can't believe how good these eyeshadow's are!
I got these at CVS buy one get one 50% off at $2.99 each.
*UPDATE* I've since bought Walking on Eggshells too haha
Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush Mascara
in Very Black
If you read my Drug Store Beauty Must Haves post, you will have seen me rave about this mascara before. This broke my rule about not using brands I can get at home but in reality I haven't used a Maybelline mascara for YEARS! I was intrigued by the concept of the flexi-brush and it also has a bristle brush as opposed to a silicone one which I tend to prefer.
This mascara does not disappoint. It is just as good, if not better, than the Benefit Cosmetics mascara's that I adore! It separates and lengthens each lash and if you use an eyelash curler with it (you don't really need to though) - it looks like you're wearing false lashes. It's a total bargain too!
I got this at Walmart for $5.94
Physicians Formula BB All in One Cheek and Lip Balm
in Berry Pink and Natural Peach
The little balls of goodness also featured in my Drug Store Must Haves as I fell in love with them after the first use! I'm on a real cream blush kick recently, I just find they look so much more natural and last a lot longer throughout the day!
I picked up the berry shade at the end of January and was only just able to track down the Natural Peach! I had the people in my CVS running around trying to track it down for me! Seriously though, the Natural Peach is impossible to find - so if you see it GRAB IT! Or you could order it online.
I cannot say enough about these. I just LOVE them. Both colours look so natural, look good on all skin shades as a blush and really make a difference as a lip balm too! They smell amazing and honestly are so long wearing!
I think I love the Natural Peach one even more as I got it for less than $1 after coupons and offers!
I got both of these (in the end) from CVS. They retail for $6.95
NYX Butter Lipstick
in Fun Size
I was a little bit dubious about this lipstick to begin with, especially after the first time I wore it. There's definitely a technique to applying it but I also think that's to do with the fact it's a very pale/nude shade! It probably also didn't help that I rushed to try it during the day and I already had a pink lipstick on!
However, I really do love this lipstick now as a great nude lip. It is slightly pale (I'm really tanned at the moment!!) but it really looks great and I've found it to be long-wearing. It definitely needs a few coats on my lips, but other than that it's fab!
I got it on offer at CVS, but normally it retails for $6.
NYX Butter Gloss
in Cherry Cheesecake
I've been on the hunt for a nice Coral lip colour for spring for a while now and this definitely does the job. I would say it almost is a lip stain too. It's not too sticky for a gloss and because of it's stain-like qualities - lasts a really long time.
The colour is perfect for the warmer months and I'm really excited to get to wear it more! If you google it for swatches, do not be put off by the orange colour that comes up - it is nowhere near that shade!
I also got this at CVS and it retails for $5.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream
in San Paulo
Finally, I picked up a product I've wanted to try for AGES! This is the first matte lip colour I have tried and I think I'm going to become obsessed, based on this lip cream. It applies exactly like a gloss but it's totally matte! The formula kind of blows my mind for that reason!
I do find that my lips feel quite dry when I wear this and actually the colour wears off more quickly than the other NYX lip products I've mentioned, but I still really love it and think it's worth the investment!
I grabbed this lip cream from CVS too, it retails for $6.
*UPDATE*: I've since bought this in Antwerp and Cannes and I love them. Antwerp is the perfect coral summer shade and Cannes is the most beautiful nude!

That's it! I know that seems like a lot but that is a haul over almost three months so it's not that bad - honestly!! I love make up and love playing with it to see what I can do but I am trying to cut back because I've come to the realisation that I'm going to have to get all of this back to the UK very soon!! I'm also really running out of space here!
Do you have a favourite drug store brand?
Love Always,
*UPDATE* Since writing this post I've bought more products I am IN LOVE with. I'll briefly review them!
So beautiful and pigmented and relatively long-wearing for a powder blush. I think it's definitely more Coral than it is Rose but either way it's beautiful.
Go one shade darker thank you think you need for this one - the packaging is deceptive. I AM IN LOVE with this concealer!!! The best concealer I have ever ever used. That's coming from a Benefit Erase Paste junkie. You have to pick this one up!
My Ulta finally had this in stock! I haven't used it yet because I figured it was going to be easier to take home without being used. I've never come across a sponge I've liked - so we shall see!
- Real Techniques Core Collection and Eye Starter Kit Sets
I got these for a steal on Amazon! I paid about $10 each and so far I'm really impressed. They're really soft and really fool-proof when it comes to application. An early favourite is the crease blush from the Eye Starter Set.
Really impressed with these from Target! Super soft brushes and the different shapes of the brush make them perfect for blending out all areas.
As I just mentioned, I'm an Erase Paste addict. Having heard this is a dupe I had to try it out. I haven't opened it yet as I've got quite a few concealers open so I don't want to go crazy!
My eyebrow palette was running out of the wax that's a part of it and after hearing good things about this I picked it up at Target and it hasn't disappointed! It works a lot better than the wax in terms of holding the colour for longer.
Ok after seeing how much I've bought since writing the post I can admit I have a problem haha. 3 weeks to go and I've got CVS coupons to spend too! Ahhh!
