The abundance of planners that help keep me organised |
Schedule Your Workouts Like Appointments
Seriously, write them down in your planner or make a calendar notification. That way you're unlikely to make plans at that time and studies have shown that you're more likely to 'make the appointment' and go to the gym!
Set Your Alarm!
Set your alarm an hour early to give yourself that extra hour for your workout. Getting it in before the rest of your day gets in the way - like overtime or spontaneous meetings with friends after work - means you don't need to worry if these things do crop up - your workout is done!
Prioritise
This works both ways. I am 100% an advocate for making the time for YOU to workout. Do it for yourself because you want to and you feel good. BUT really what's more important - being with the people you love or being in the gym? If you want to go out with friends then do it! Absolutely don't feel guilty. Should you do it every night? No but once will not hurt.
Make It Social
Desperate to spend time with girls? Suggest meeting up at a fitness class instead of a bar or the mall. You can always go for coffee after! Doing it together will not only be more motivating but also a great bonding experience too.
Set Goals
Having something to work towards makes it much easier to say no to things. Knowing you have something you're reaching for by a specific date will influence you to say no the margarita's and yes to treadmill!
It can be really easy to be successful at your weight loss mission and maintain some kind of a normal life too, these are just some of the ways! Remember though, there are a lot more important things in life than how many pounds you lose. You won't remember the time you spent in the gym but you will remember those unforgettable moments with those that you love. Life is all about balance.
Love Always,
